The Annual Swim Camp for NS Swim School swimmers competing at the national level for Warringah Swimming Club was a memorable and productive event. Held from January 6th to 11th at the Sleemans Aquatic Centre in Chandler, it combined intense training sessions with fun-filled team-building activities and exciting outings.
The week served as vital preparation for the upcoming National Age and Open Championships in April. Alongside rigorous training, the team bonded and created lasting memories during activities such as Fox in a Box, where swimmers collaborated to solve clues and escape locked rooms.
A highlight for many was the trip to Dreamworld and WhiteWater World theme parks. Swimmers not only faced the thrill of the rides but also enjoyed seeing their coaches step outside their comfort zones. The image of the head coach shooting down a water slide was undoubtedly a favorite among the team.
Behind the scenes, team managers Marlene and Ariel went above and beyond to ensure that everyone was well-fed, often cooking additional meals to supplement the catered food. Their hard work didn’t go unnoticed and was key to the camp’s success.
The swimmers stood out for their dedication, teamwork, and positive attitudes throughout the camp.
It was a fantastic way to set the tone for a strong showing at the National Championships.
