Angelo Basalo has certainly built an impressive coaching career since being appointed Head Coach of NS Swim in October 2023. With over 30 years of experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. His accolades, including being named the 2010 NSW Coach of the Year and the 2015 Australian Paralympic Coach of the Year, reflect his dedication and expertise in the sport.
Adding to his credentials, Angelo has coached more than 20 Australian champions and record holders, demonstrating his ability to nurture talent at the highest level. Since 1995, he has consistently placed swimmers on NSW teams and has a strong track record of coaching both able-bodied and multi-class swimmers on Australian teams from 2000 to 2016.
The recent addition of Frank Preston and Cameron Reynolds to the coaching staff further enhances the team’s potential for success, forming a formidable trio that can support swimmers in reaching their goals. With Angelo’s experience and leadership, NS Aquatics is well-positioned for a bright future in competitive swimming.
